Protest group Led by Donkeys has received more than £27,000 in compensation for a banner unlawfully taken by the Greater London Authority and subsequently destroyed. The banner, which read “Yes, it’s a genocide”, was seized during a peaceful protest in Parliament Square. It was taken as part of the UK’s authoritarian war on speech and protest against Israel’s crimes against humanity. The UK legacy media are having a normal one again. The Economist magazine just announced a currently serving British Army general would become its new defence editor upon leaving the military. Turner led 77 Brigade, the army’s propaganda unit, from 2020 to 2022.
