On 4 July, Zack Polanski called out politicians who ‘dance at Pride’ only to oppose LGBTQ+ rights:
Pride is a protest.
And there's a lot to protest.

The tiny street fascist Tommy Robinson is among those who criticised Polanski. In turn, Robinson has drawn fresh attention to his own past.
Polanski — “Pride is a protest”
Writing for the Independent, Polanski said:
From the outside, Pride can often look like one big party. Rainbow flags, face paint, fabulous outfits and a bit of a disco.
And as someone who enjoys a dance, there’s nothing wrong with that. Moments of shared joy in clubs, on dancefloors and at parties are so important for our community, for coming together in the face of hatred, discrimination and attempts to divide us.
But it’s important to remember that, fundamentally, Pride is a protest movement. It started in New York in 1969, in response to police harassment and brutality at the Stonewall Inn, after police repeatedly raided the small gay dive bar under the guise of discriminatory laws.
Tommy Robinson responded as follows (with Polanski’s subsequent response above it):
This is exactly why we have Pride.
Because a few years ago this would have just been a hateful fringe figure – but this is where our politics is heading with a Government that kertows.
We will resist. And bring hope (*and* electing progressive politicians.) We will win.

The idea that they’re ‘mutilating’ or ‘chemically castrating children’ is nonsense, of course. The ‘noncing’ allegation is interesting, though, given the following:
Tommy Robinson still has said nothing about his associate Ben Cullen facing trial for downloading over 70 "indecent images of children."
He has proven time and time again that he has no issues with people harming women or children if they are white or his mates. pic.twitter.com/pv9vWVIsrb

Cullen is part of Operation Raise the Colours, with Robinson later claiming not to know the man:
Tommy Robinson has finally commented on the allegations involving Ben Cullen from Raise the Colours. Apparently, he has never met him.
Also, notice how he gives him grace. "He’s in court, so I don’t know how much you can comment on it because he hasn’t been convicted yet."

Robinson has extensive links to men accused of (or found guilty of) sex crimes, including Errol Musk, Andrew Tate, Conor McGregor, and many others:
This is a long post about the far-right, who claim to care about protecting women and girls while also presenting themselves as law-abiding citizens.
A pattern is emerging.

Revealing
Polanski also retweeted a post which read:
Considering Robinson has been documented as messaging young men on grindr and accidentally revealing that his algorithm is attuned to gay adverts, I think he douth protest too much!
For more on that, see the following:
Well well.. @TRobinsonNewEra you predatory nonce cunt. #TommyRobinson #UniteTheKingdom

The above gets clipped off, but Robinson’s Grindr name was ‘Zack Panini’.
There was also this:

If Robinson doesn’t want UK political leaders to accuse him of being a closeted ‘nonce’, he should probably stop giving everyone call to remember his Grindr leaks.
It’s certainly not the case that all homophobes are secretly closeted men, but many right-wingers do love to do the things they tell others they should not.
Anyway, Polanski was right to say that Pride is still a protest, and Robinson is precisely the sort of rat being protested against.
