Labour Defence Secretary Wes Streeting accepted a £30,000 donation from a think tank linked to convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried. David Lawrence David Lawrence was the co-founder and treasurer of Labour for the Long Term (LLT). But just days before setting up the think tank, Lawrence received a £500,000 “gift” from Bankman-Fried. In 2024, the “crypto king” was jailed for 25 years in an $11 billion fraud case. Political donations are all over the news at the moment because of Reform UK’s various scandals. Establishment figures are arguing the issue is that Reform didn’t properly declare their various ‘gifts’ and ‘benefits’.
