Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate are facing extradition to the UK over alleged sexual offences, trafficking and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. As the Canary has covered, the pair’s lawyer has been behaving in disturbing and erratic ways in his efforts to defend them. This has now seen him spreading misinformation about the Tates’ alleged victims. An exposé by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) has laid bare how City of Sanctuary, a charity that promotes empathy and compassion towards asylum seekers and refugees, became the target of a far right misinformation campaign.
