Rupert Lowe’s reach on X eclipses that of Nigel Farage — and all thanks go to Elon Musk

Research from the Financial Times indicates that Rupert Lowe — founder of the extreme-right Restore Britain — has more reach on social media platform X than Reform’s Nigel Farage. In large part, Lowe owes his success to billionaire Elon Musk, who bought out Twitter in 2022 (and then had a highly public fallout with Farage in 2025). Since launching Restore back in February, ten of Lowe’s X posts have received over 10-million views. Meanwhile, whilst Farage has over three times Lowe’s follower count, none of his posts have reached a similar mark. Whilst Restore currently consists of — in Farage’s words —…

Burnham hits back at Blair’s complete disregard for dismal living standards in the UK

Andy Burnham has finally hit back at Tony Blair’s thinly veiled criticism of his potential leadership of the Labour Party. Blair previously published a rambling article via his eponymous think tank, the Tony Blair Institute, detailing his belief in the so-called ‘radical centre‘. From what we can tell, that means private-sector deregulation, centering AI above all, slashing welfare and wages, and sucking up to Trump. Really radical, that lot. The section of Blair’s essay which reads as an attack on Burnham is this: the alternative which thinks the answer is moving even further left on taxes, spending and welfare, spun with…

Polanski calls out the back door between the AI industry and the Labour government

Green leader Zack Polanski has published a letter calling out ex-Labour leader Tony Blair’s links to the atificial intelligence (AI) industry and government. The news comes after war criminal Blair published an essay, via his Tony Blair Institute (TBI) think tank, calling for Labour to essentially shape all future policy around AI. Of course, this policy recommendation has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Larry Ellison gave £250m to the TBI. Ellison just happens to be the CEO of AI-specialist company Oracle. He’s also a good buddy of Donald Trump, at whose feet Blair all but worshipped in his…

Question Time assembles panel of AI industry stooges for tonight’s special episode

BBC’s Question Time is at it again — this time, the show has put together a homogeneously pro-AI panel for tonight’s special on the environmentally ruinous technology. Green leader Zack Polanski went so far as to speculate that the entire episode was bought and paid for by the AI lobby. Likewise, journalist Caroline Cadwalladr characterised the show as laundering AI’s image in a similar manner to its performance with Nigel Farage. Long-time readers will already be familiar with the Canary’s distaste for the national broadcaster’s flagship panel show. Question Time has previously faced allegations of blocking pro-Palestine audience members, mis-labelling panelists to massage right-wing…

Labour chair to Farage: report your so-called Russian hack to the authorities, or I will

Labour chair Anna Turley has issued an ultimatum to Nigel Farage: he has 24 hours to report his claim to have been a victim of a Russian hack to security services. If not, Turley plans to do it for him.  It’s “in the public and national interest” to make sure that a possible attack by a foreign state is investigated properly, according to the letter Turley sent to the Reform leader. Farage needs to sound the espionage alarms On 23 May, Farage claimed that counter-espionage experts employed by Reform had found proof that Russian hackers used spear phishing to break into…

Senedd candidate in Nazi salute photo row now Reform special adviser

Reform Senedd candidate Corey Edwards, who stepped down from the election after a photo emerged of him doing a Nazi salute, is now, apparently, the special adviser for the far-right party’s Welsh leader. Mere hours after Reform announced him as a candidate for Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan, a photo of Edwards performing a Nazi salute (complete with a finger in place of a Hitler-style moustache) came to light. The picture was reportedly taken more than six years ago. Edwards ‘apologised’ publicly but also tried to play it down as a joke. He even attempted a feeble swipe at anti-Zionist protests. My…

On 27 May energy regulator Ofgem announced that it will raise the energy price cap for 1 July to 30 September 2026 by a massive 13%. That’s the sharpest hike in household energy prices of any summer in the past four years. Bill-payers under the cap will now pay the equivalent of £1,862 a year from 1 July to 30 September for gas and electricity. That’s up from the current equivalent of £1,641 a year – an increase of around £18 a month, based on typical use. The cap applies to anyone on the default payment plan, rather than a fixed-rate…

Conservative cronies urge Palantir to sue Sadiq Khan for actually doing his job

Former Conservative attorney-general Michael Ellis KC has suggested that US tech giant Palantir could have grounds to sue London mayor Sadiq Khan. The news follows Khan blocking a £50m deal between the shady AI firm and the Metropolitan police. Back on 22 April, the Guardian reported that Palantir was negotiating the supply of AI tools to the Met police for use in criminal investigations. The talks sparked fears within both the public and the force itself over allowing the US company access to sensitive data. However, on 21 May, Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) exercised its power to block…

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have attacked protesters outside of the Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. Meanwhile, detainees inside the facility have staged a hunger strike against the inhumane conditions they’re subjected to. Attorneys have reported that around 300 detainees have joined the hunger-and-labor strike at Delaney Hall. The peaceful action began on 22 May, highlighting serious concerns including the spoiled food they’re expected to eat. Selenia Destefani – CEO of Nova Law Group, representatives of the detainees – explained that: The conditions are brutal. People just sleep on the floor – overcrowded rooms, cold showers,…

On 29 May, Edward Fitzalan-Howard – the Duke of Norfolk – will host Reform UK donors for lunch at Arundel Castle. Because, you know, nothing says ‘man of the people’ like hobnobbing with the aristocracy in your Duke mate’s 11th-century family fort. Of course, Fitzalan-Howard isn’t the only member of the UK’s aristos who’s been getting pally with Farage of late. Strap in, folks – we’re taking a quick tour of Britain’s ‘noble-born’ bigots, and there’s more double-barreled names than you can shake a stick at. Farage’s host, the Duke of Norfolk Fitzalan-Howard himself fits in great alongside the rest of…
