On 14 August,Β the 41-year-old academic Jason Arday was found dead in Battersea, London. His death followed a relentless media blitz in which the previously unknown professor was subjected the sort of relentless coverage which is usually reserved for heads of state. On Saturday 1 August, Donald Trump’s Truth Social launched a subscription-based service that gives paying customers “real-time” access to posts from its largest accounts. The social media platform is charging up to $100,000 a month for what it calls “market-moving” insights. Critics have called the move an act of “brazen corruption”. Trump, a sitting US president, stands to profit by giving traders early access to the Truth Social posts. Once again, a Reform candidate’s social media history has exposed the party‘s lax vetting procedures. The candidate in question is Andy Curwen, the National revealed.
