Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) have voted to demand powers to hold another Scottish independence referendum. First Minister John Swinney described independence as a “golden opportunity” that would “put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands”. Grasping Westminster running against Scottish interests MSPs agreed: the motion passed by 72-55, with the support of the Greens enough to see off an unholy London-centric Labour, Reform, Tory and LibDem alliance. New York Mayor Mamdani successfully recovered $9m in unpaid fines from Amazon

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, alongside the City’s Commissioners in the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), has announced that his administration has managed to recover over $9m in previously unpaid fines. These fines came from idling violations committed by Bezos’ delivery vehicles and third-party contractors, and despite the Amazon’s $2 trillion valuation, the company has ignored them – until now. Basque police brutally beat Palestine activists after they return from Israeli prison

It might have looked like a scene from a prison in so-called ‘Israel’, but the appalling scenes actually unfolded at Bilbao airport. It wasn’t Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) beating peaceful Basque activists, but rather their own police force, the Ertzaintza, who smashed them with batons as they lay helpless on the ground.
