Colombia’s left-wing president Gustavo Petro has declared the country’s recent presidential election illegitimate and de-recognised the election of far-right, US-allied Abelardo de la Espriella. De la Espriella has responded by saying that he is cancelling ‘transition arrangements. In June 2026, Petro condemned the hacking and tampering by Israeli and US organisations in voting and tally processes that were run by foreign ‘cybersecurity’ companies. He has reaffirmed that De la Espriella “did not win the elections”. De la Espriella is an eager supporter of Israel. Calling for the Colombian people to gather and march on the country’s 20 July Independence Day in…

Anti-diversity narrative has apparently become mainstream view with thanks to rise of the far-right

A new report written by a former government adviser on extremism has raised huge alarm about the “vanishingly small” window for a new PM to be able to take action to curb the growing division and hate in the UK. Sara Khan’s analysis reveals a stark image of the current — and growing — lack of harmony in the UK with the report finding that over half of Brits believe that the country is losing its national identity as a result of diversity. Additionally, it apparently found that 40% of people thought that Muslims are not even capable of integration. According…

Solidarity from Lebanon’s rebellious Christians

Lebanon — The ancient Christian quarter of the southern city of Tyre — known locally as Sour — is a vibrant tourist attraction in more normal times. It has a historic lighthouse and winding narrow streets that lead to its coffee shops, restaurants and markets. It is also a stopping point for pilgrims — due to its significance in the Bible and two ancient cathedrals. Unlike the rest of the city, which has been partially obliterated by Israeli bombs, the Christian quarter remains untouched. Locals here have recently put the values of their faith into literal practice, by sheltering thousands of…

Chronically distrusted Met Police inundated with FOI requests

London’s controversial Metropolitan Police force is apparently inundated with a “significant volume” of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Public trust in the Met regularly ranks as very low. An automated response, seen by the Canary, to one journalist’s FOI request reveals that the Met is unable to handle the number of inquiries it receives. FOI requests are made by the press and public alike. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), public bodies and government organisations are legally bound to transparency access. The FOIA stipulates a 20-day timeframe for bodies to respond within. The automated response, shared with the Canary…

Farage to face Count Binface & Laurence ‘wasteman’ Fox in Clacton

On Tuesday 7 July, Nigel Farage instigated what’s shaping up to be the most pointless by-election in history. It may also be the strangest, because Farage’s opponents are set to be Count Binface and professional divorcee Laurence ‘wasteman’ Fox: Nigel Farage and his colleagues are setting themselves up for a month of this. And they genuinely expect people to let them run the country. https://t.co/bVwyMqhR8t — (((Dan Hodges))) (@DPJHodges) July 8, 2026 Farage: get in the bin Usually when an MP steps down, it’s because they want to step down. Farage, meanwhile, is set to contest the seat he’s just made…

Police have told a campaign group for the families of people suffering a reduced immune system that they will be prosecuted for wearing masks at protests. The police also told them they will have to use their health issues in court as part of their defence. The Clinically Vulnerable Families (CVF) group played a major role in the Covid inquiry and represents people who could become seriously ill, or even die, from infections most of us would shrug off. Immunocompromised people wear masks in public as a defence against such infections. But the Police and Crime Act Section 157 criminalises the…

Two recent films, the Hollywood production Citizen Vigilante and the Bollywood movie Chauhaan, have sparked widespread outrage for their portrayal of violence against Muslims. The use of popular media to mainstream hate and legitimise the othering of minorities is an alarming regression that has real-world consequences, given rising levels of violence against minorities. ‘Nazi’ and ‘Cannibal’ allegations dog Citizen Vigilante’s creators The people associated with Citizen Vigilante reveal a great deal about the film’s intentions. Actor Armie Hammer faced allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalism in 2021. He has since denied the most extreme claims. He told Louis Theroux that “you have…

Communist Party USA says reds are among best Americans

  • Post author:

Communist Party USA’s co-chair, Joe Sims has responded to recent comments from Donald Trump: Donald Trump’s back-to-back holiday weekend speeches at Mount Rushmore and the National Mall, where he said the Communist Party was composed of ‘illegal immigrants, criminals, and people who don’t want to work’, are taking on an increasingly fascist trajectory. That’s the standard authoritarian playbook. They always come for the communists and socialists first. Sims added: If Trump got this ‘intelligence’ from the FBI, Kash Patel needs to be fired immediately. What a bunch of garbage. He’s trying to criminalise us. We’re among the best Americans. The Communist…

Greens demand political donation cap to end political grifting

  • Post author:

Political donations are all over the news at the moment because of Reform UK’s various scandals. Establishment figures are arguing the issue is that Reform didn’t properly declare their various ‘gifts’ and ‘benefits’. As the Greens and others have said, however, the real problem is that billionaires are able to legally buy influence from UK politicians: Billionaires are buying influence in British politics. It's time to cap political donations and make every vote count equally. pic.twitter.com/jxSVXc5n6h — The Green Party (@TheGreenParty) July 7, 2026 Get big money out of politics In the clip above, MP Ellie Chowns says: In a democracy,…
