Pressure on the government to ban the importation of foie gras is intensifying. Activists from animal protection organisation Animal Equality have unfurled a giant banner on Victoria Embankment. It says “KEEP YOUR PROMISE: BAN FOIE GRAS IMPORTS”, in direct view of parliament. The action follows the launch of 150 billboards and ads running across south east England sharing the same message. Animal Justice Project has announced that Elsham Linc Limited, a subsidiary of Cranswick Country Foods Plc, and North Moor Farm Manager Andy Pentecost have been summonsed to appear before Nottingham Justice Centre on 26 August 2026. This follows the organisation’s undercover investigation at North Moor Farm in Lincolnshire. Two leading animal welfare organisations are calling on the new Scottish parliament to end the annual guga hunt on Sula Sgeir.
