Judge acquits Palestine Action Filton defendant

An Old Bailey judge has declared Palestine Action ‘actionist’ William Plastow, 35, not guilty of the state’s charge of ‘violent disorder’. The case demonstrates why the state is so keen to prevent juries knowing their right to acquit or being told about the political context for damage to Israel weapons factories. Jeremy Johnson is the security services-linked judge who sentenced four ‘Filton 25’ activists as terrorists for trying to prevent mass murder. He is also the judge who tried to convict Rajiv Menon KC, one of the defence lawyers, for contempt of court. Judge who served security services imposes draconian ‘terror’ sentences on Filton peace activists

Judge Jeremy Johnson has imposed draconian sentences on four ‘Filton 25’ anti-genocide activists. Johnson had earlier refused to recuse himself from the case over his connections to the security services, Johnson also announced that he would impose ‘terrorism connection’ sentences despite none of the four ever being charged with terror offences, let alone convicted. Thousands sign complaint ahead of hearing to remove ‘biased’ Filton judge

More than 3,000 people, including legal experts, have signed a formal complaint accusing the security service-linked presiding judge in the trial of six ‘Filton 24’ Palestine Action activists of bias and discriminatory conduct.
