Seven Just Stop Oil supporters were found not guilty at Southwark Crown Court on 3 June, two and a half years after slow marching on Waterloo Bridge to demand an end to new oil and gas licensing. Thousands of people from across Wales are expected to gather in Aberystwyth by 1pm on Saturday 26 September 2026 as the town hosts YesCymru’s first ever March for Independence in mid Wales. UK ‘special operations’ soldier died at base Iran attacked in March

The UK military has named the soldier killed in Erbil, Iraq. An American soldier also died in what the allied nations say was a “training accident”. Lance Corporal James Freeman was a member of the Royal Anglian regiment. Iranian drones hit the base in March 2026. Freeman was a member of 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment.
