Trump’s war on Iran has finally gone too far even for the Republican-controlled US Senate β€” on 23 June, the upper house passed a War Powers Resolution nominally barring the president from continuing hostilities against Iran without congressional approval. Unfortunately, the resolution is primarily a symbolic gesture. Whilst the resolution passed the lower House of Representatives at the beginning of June, and has now passed through the Senate, it won’t be passed to Trump for his approval. Whittome’s Early Day Motion to reject the EHRC’s transphobic code passes 100 signatures

Labour MP Nadia Whittome has announced a motion to reject the Equalities and Human Rights Commission’s (EHRC) transphobic Code of Practice. Rachel Taylor MP, likewise of Labour, also gave a moving account of why she signed the motion. Whittome and Taylor have also urged other MPs to sign the motion. Stormont bill to outlaw barbaric hunting with dogs passes second stage

A bill that would outlaw the cruel practice of hunting wild mammals with dogs has now reached the committee stage at Stormont. Moreover, the Hunting with Dogs Bill sets out to: …prohibit hunting wild mammals with dogs; to prohibit trail hunting; to prohibit terrier work; and to set out exemptions from these prohibitions.
