Spanish politicians demand Spain doesn’t extradite Fergie Chambers to US

Multiple Spanish political parties are calling on the Spanish government not to execute Fergie Chambers’ extradition to the US. Representatives of several political forces have submitted a letter to interior minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska and FΓ©lix BolaΓ±os GarcΓa, minister for the presidency, justice and parliamentary relations, as well as to several government delegations. The letter calls on the Spanish executive not to execute the extradition of James Cox β€œFergie” Chambers Jr. to the US. And it warns that solidarity with Palestine, in a context of genocide, occupation and apartheid, cannot be criminalised or presented as terrorism. The MPs come from the CUP,…

UK politicians and ‘mainstream’ media are ignoring yet another Islamophobic attack at a UK mosque. In the latest in a string of attacks treated with indifference by the establishment, an elderly man was assaulted and subjected to racist abuse outside Noor Ul Islam Mosque in the Leyton area of London. The victim was hospitalised by the attack. An intervention by other mosque-goers prevented the attack escalating further. A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Β Mosque attack met with state-media indifference Keir Starmer and other government politicians did not even comment on the attack, let alone call a…

Palantir is feeling heat from the NHS, but will lobbied politicians listen?

  • Post last modified:8 July 2026

Lib Dem MP Martin Wrigley told the Canary last week that the NHS will consider whether to exit its contract with Palantir at the end of this year. Wrigley added that he would be helping to create an “off-ramp” to help the NHS detach from Palantir. In 2023, Palantir was awarded the Β£330 million NHS Federated Data Platform (FDP) contract, covering up to 240 NHS bodies over seven years. The initial term ends in February 2027 and promises to deliver an integrated system where NHS organisations, up to 240 health bodies, can share operational data. Palantir’s NHS sales pitch Palantir clients…

Welsh Reform politicians are embarrassing themselves in the Senedd

  • Post author:

Reform’s Wales representatives in the Senedd are showing themselves up in multiple serious discussions. Supposedly the formal opposition in the nation’s devolved parliament, Reform look increasingly foolish. The Members of the Senedd (MSs) are on record making various bloopers, not taking subjects seriously, and generally cocking-up. Not worth the Β£80,000 salary they’re plumped with. Reform ‘having a mare’ Cardiff-based Welsh journalist Will Hayward caught one Reform MSΒ sorely lacking when he was entirely unprepared to ask a follow-up question, or ‘supplementary,’ on the Senedd floor. MS Gareth Beer asked a question which couldn’t have taken more than 30 seconds to think of,…

Israel: UK media and politicians ignore β€˜From river to sea’ from Netanyahu

  • Post author:
  • Post last modified:30 June 2026

The UK’s politico-media class loves a bit of pearl-clutching over the phrase “from the river to the sea”. It’s treated as ‘hate’ and a ‘call for the destruction of Israel’. Except when it comes from the Israeli regime, of course. Then it’s fine and dandy. ‘Nothing to see here, move along’… So with Benjamin Netanyahu’s latest, it’s far from the first time he and other colonisers have used it, but as shameless as could be. I’m guessing this version of β€œfrom the river to the sea” will get zero media attention. https://t.co/It7Iz95eNt β€” Assal Rad (@AssalRad) June 29, 2026 Israel’s chants…

Blackburn Muslim family’s home firebombed. MSM, politicians silent

At 1.30am on Tuesday 16 June, two white supremacists approached the home of a Blackburn Muslim family, torched their car and filmed it. The attack was β€” at least β€” the third Islamophobic arson attack in June 2026. According to local firefighters, the family escaped was “seconds away from fatality”. White racists committed at least one other arson attack in the town in May. Apart from local press, UK mainstream media all but ignored the attacks. So did the government. A few days later, a white-supremacist thug knifed five people in Edinburgh, screaming Islamophobic hate as he was arrested. That attack…

Attacks come as new analysis by Declassified shows pro-Israel lobby groups have taken British MPs to Israel 67 times since the genocide started British MPs compared their colleagues to Nazis during a debate about Israel’s influence on UK politics on Monday. The event in Parliament was triggered by a petition signed by more than 118,000 people, calling for a β€œpublic inquiry into pro-Israel influence on politics & democracy”.Β  But the debate was steamrolled by MPs who claimed the title of the petition was anti-Semitic. Labour MP Peter Prinsley said the petition was β€œfamiliar”, comparing it to conspiracy theories spread by Nazis.…

Politicians and commenters condemn white riots following Belfast stabbing

  • Post author:
  • Post last modified:10 June 2026

Politicians and social commentators from across the UK have taken to social media to condemn the racist riots that have swept Belfast – and the shameless far-right agitators who helped fan the flames. As the Canary previously reported, rioters carried out a wave of pogroms in Belfast and nearby towns over the last two days, carrying out arson attacks on homes belonging to people of colour. The racists also attacked businesses they perceived as the property of β€˜foreigners’, blocked roads, and set fire to vehicles. The hate crimes followed a knife attack,Β reportedly perpetrated by a Sudanese man, on the evening of…

Western politicians and media heaps tributes on the author of Persepolis

Obituaries for Franco-Iranian artist and author of Persepolis Marjane Satrapi are pouring in from Western politicians and media following news of her death in Paris at age 56 on Thursday. Western establishments’ obituaries revealed a pattern of appreciating Satrapi for opposing Iran’s government, reflecting their ever-present instinct of Islamophobia. “Persepolis” was a bestselling graphic novel series by Satrapi. Most of them admire her as CNN puts it as: an outspoken critic of Iran’s ruling establishment and a prominent supporter of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement. Satrapi was married to Mattias Ripa, who helped translate ‘Persepolis’ into English. He died last year.…

Israel-bought politicians don’t care what a hate march actually is

  • Post author:

Israel lobbyists β€” and UK politicians who take donations from Israel lobbyists β€” characterise protests against Israel’s genocide as ‘hate’. It’s a bare-faced lie. But the far-right is full of hate yet many MPs refuse to say so. The ‘protest’ (riots) in Southampton on Tuesday, egged on by fascists Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson, put it beyond doubt. View this post on Instagram A post shared by MEND Community (@mendcommunity) Israel-aligned politicians attack humanitarians instead Yet the Starmer regime is treating this real hate as a side issue.
