Shameful Sinn Féin allow extension of F-35 warplane factory to proceed

In a move that reveals the party’s pro-Palestine sentiment to be entirely hollow, Sinn Féin have allowed an extension to a north of Ireland factory producing components for F-35 warplanes. So-called ‘Israel’ has used the jets extensively to murder civilians in its genocidal assault on Gaza. The factory in question is Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson, a village within Mid Ulster District Council (MUDC) boundaries. On 7 July, the council’s 16-member planning committee shamefully voted to permit the enlargement of the illegal factory. Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) politicians have maintained they were correct to stand alongside masked men who hurled racist and sectarian abuse at a peaceful pro-Palestine march. MP for Upper Bann, Carla Lockhart, incongruously claimed that she showed “real leadership” by joining a 300-strong pro-genocide mob, which jeered relentlessly metres away from the roughly 1,500-strong Palestine-backing contingent.
