Labour MP David Taylor apparently has no problem with Israeli genocidaires and returning IOF reservists visiting Britain, but American content creators and political commentators are one step too far. Last week, Taylor called for Hasan Piker to be banned from entering the UK, claiming that his presence would be “not conducive to the public good”. When Shabana Mahmood obliged by revoking the visas of Piker and Cenk Uygur, another political commentator, Taylor thanked the Home Secretary. Nearly half of parents are struggling to afford food for their children more now than five years ago

New research warns that family hardship has deepened despite years of post-pandemic support measures, worsening child food hunger. The survey of 2,500 UK parents, which Opinium carried out for the Social Market Foundation, found that nearly half (44%) were struggling more today to afford food than five years ago. In addition, 1 in 5 (21%) parents reported their children regularly experiencing some form of food insecurity. This included being unable to access balanced meals, or relying heavily on cheap foods.
