I try to visit him as often as possible, sometimes without payment, sometimes for a tiny payment from his family. I have filed many petitions on his behalf without charging for them. I love him and he loves me. This client has been in prison since the days of the Second Intifada. Back then, he was a 22-year-old young man who helped his friends buy a pistol –…

Palestinian footballer Natalie Abu Dayeh wasn’t preparing for a match or a training camp this time. She was sitting at her university homework in the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah, before Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed her home and took her into custody, leaving behind the lecture notes and pen she had been writing with just minutes before the raid. A scene documented by the Palestinian Football Association in an official statement, but it was not the only incident in recent hours. A dangerous and rapidly escalating outbreak of the skin disease scabies is again sweeping through Israeli occupation prisons. This is causing huge suffering to the many thousands of Palestinian political prisoners who, for the past few years, have intentionally had the worst conditions ever inflicted on them. Abdullah al-Zighari, head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, told the Canary: The Israeli occupation system is carrying out acts of retaliation against Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, by denying them the necessary medical care, posing a serious threat to their lives. “Intentional health catastrophe” and deliberate deprivation of treatment for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli…

Irish citizens criminally abducted by Israel from the humanitarian Gaza flotilla arrived back in Ireland last night. Israel beat, tortured and in many cases raped or sexually assaulted them and hundreds of volunteers from other countries. But their thoughts and words were for the 10,000+ Palestinians — including 400 children — Israel holds without charge. They are tortured and raped every day, even more brutally. Flotilla vs daily reality The white faces among the flotilla victims has generated a small amount of equivocating western media interest.
