BBC have questions to answer as yet another misogynistic, abusive man given privileged platform

Recent disturbing revelations connected to BBC favourite Ashley Cain prove that the UK and its institutions have a serious misogyny problem. Moreover, the volume of evidence showing extremely bigoted, abusive rhetoric to diminish, demean and attack women shows how little sexualised abuse seems to matter to the state broadcaster. When Cain’s rhetoric glorifies violence against women, it ceases to be mere opinion and becomes part of a culture that puts women and girls at risk. The damage is real, and so are the consequences. Thus, the BBC has serious questions to answer. They did not merely tolerate this rhetoric — they…

The Libyan abductors of ten Global Sumud land convoy volunteers kidnapped on 24 May 2026 have extended their illegal captivity for another thirty days. The ten were abducted near Sirte despite having previously agree safe passage with aid bound for Gaza. The extension is the second imposed on them by Libya’s Internal Security Agency (ISA). Organisers have described the “political hostage taking” as outrageous and a “blatant attack on international solidarity with Palestine”. The group is demanding action from the volunteers’ governments and others to pressure the ISA into freeing the captives. The ISA has released footage showing the victims being…

The Chief Constable of Hampshire Police told the BBC that the footage of officers arresting Henry Nowak while he lay bleeding from stab wounds left him feeling as “distressed” as the wider public. Officers handcuffed Nowak and read him his rights despite his obvious injuries. Ultimately, the court sentenced his killer, Vickrum Digwa, to a minimum of 21 years in prison for the murder. Prosecutors will soon continue proceedings against Digwa’s mother for allegedly concealing the knife used in the attack. However, it has clearly emerged that police officers failed to respond appropriately to Nowak’s injuries despite his repeated pleas for…

DWP Milburn Report is another excuse to throw disabled kids under the bus

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) released the interim report for the Milburn Review on Youth Unemployment yesterday. The report was an exercise in how the DWP has a compliant corporate media at its beck and call. But as always, we need to look at the parts of the report the DWP didn’t want shouted from the rooftops. Corporate shills marching to the DWP’s beat The corporate media, of course, had a field day yesterday getting to crow about the ‘lost generation’, especially those with mental health conditions. At one point, both the BBC and Guardian were running live rolling…

Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) have voted to demand powers to hold another Scottish independence referendum. First Minister John Swinney described independence as a “golden opportunity” that would “put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands”. Grasping Westminster running against Scottish interests MSPs agreed: the motion passed by 72-55, with the support of the Greens enough to see off an unholy London-centric Labour, Reform, Tory and LibDem alliance. Keir Starmer said he would not give Scots what they want. This is unsurprising. Starmer is an Establishment tool through and through, who has always treated Scottish Labour like a Westminster satellite branch. He…

The UK has earmarked £65m to upgrade Skynet (actual name), a war satellite system once used to fly drones over Afghanistan. The system contains software run by yet another global military firm with interests in AI war systems. That is the second one this week. A government press release once again conflated business and public safety with lucrative defence interests: Vital emergency services, military operations and British businesses will be better protected through a new system to protect UK satellites and the services they provide from space. Adding: 20% of UK economy reliant on satellite services which are essential for military…
