On 7 June, the i Paper revealed that Nigel Farage has personally taken over £83,000 in earnings and expenses from US anti-abortion groups. The news comes less than a week after Reform’s candidate for the Makerfield by-election, Robert Kenyon, faced a grilling on Question Time for his previous comment that: abortion is the cowardly act of women murdering a defenceless baby and that women do it so they can shag anyone they want. Farage, Reform, and the anti-abortion lobby The far-right party has previously claimed that it has no plans to alter UK abortion law. This is a lie. Even before the…

The biggest international stars missing from the 2026 World Cup

Although the 2026 World Cup will go down in history as the biggest edition ever, featuring 48 teams and co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the tournament’s expanded format has not been enough to guarantee the presence of all the world’s football stars. Whilst fans prepare to follow an unprecedented edition in terms of the number of teams and matches, qualifiers, injuries and tactical choices have shaped another side of the World Cup: the absence of names that have played a significant part in the game’s landscape in recent years. Whilst the tournament has opened its doors to new…

Israel arrests two players from Palestinian women’s national team

Palestinian footballer Natalie Abu Dayeh wasn’t preparing for a match or a training camp this time. She was sitting at her university homework in the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah, before Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed her home and took her into custody, leaving behind the lecture notes and pen she had been writing with just minutes before the raid. A scene documented by the Palestinian Football Association in an official statement, but it was not the only incident in recent hours. Shortly afterwards, the occupation authorities arrested Palestinian women’s national team player Rand Halawani (20), after summoning her to…

Report proposes banning NHS staff from opposing genocide

In an alleged attempt to prevent antisemitism, a new review conducted by the government’s independent adviser Lord Mann has made several recommendations to the NHS. This potential censorship attempt raises concerns about our personal freedoms, including people’s right to show support for Palestinians. For instance, one of those recommendations is to ban NHS staff from wearing ‘political’ badges such as those linked to pro-Palestinian advocacy. However, these badges are arguably not political, but an expression of basic humanity. They signal the wearer’s objection to mass killing and Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. That campaign has mutilated, murdered and maimed hundreds of…

Burnham’s no ‘King of the North – he’s the Menace from Manchester for the left

In these quite frankly desperate times for British progressivism, with Keir Starmer’s deeply unpopular government crumbling under the weight of its own timid orthodoxy, many on the left are (still) casting about for a saviour. Enter Andy Burnham, the apparent “King of the North”, Greater Manchester Mayor, and newly energised contender for the Labour leadership. Polls show Burnham is outpacing Starmer among Labour members, which really shouldn’t be too difficult. Burnham’s folksy charm and occasional rhetorical flourishes about public control of essential utilities play rather well in working-class heartlands. So let’s be absolutely clear from the word go. Andy Burnham is…

Gaza — from the yellow line to forced removal

Under Phase One of Trump’s 20 Point “Peace Plan” for Gaza, Israeli occupation forces withdrew to a pre-designated line, the “yellow line”. During the ‘ceasefire,’ one in every three Palestinians killed were east of the yellow line The yellow line separates Gaza into two zones, and has crammed more than two million Palestinians into a narrow coastal strip of land. The land to the west of the yellow line is controlled by Hamas. That to the east is under the direct control of the Israel occupation’s military and, in October 2025, this area made up approximately 53 percent of the Gaza…

Scottish MSPs demand another chance to free Scotland from Westminster

Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) have voted to demand powers to hold another Scottish independence referendum. First Minister John Swinney described independence as a “golden opportunity” that would “put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands”. Grasping Westminster running against Scottish interests MSPs agreed: the motion passed by 72-55, with the support of the Greens enough to see off an unholy London-centric Labour, Reform, Tory and LibDem alliance. Keir Starmer said he would not give Scots what they want. This is unsurprising. Starmer is an Establishment tool through and through, who has always treated Scottish Labour like a Westminster satellite branch. He…

New York Mayor Mamdani successfully recovered $9m in unpaid fines from Amazon

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, alongside the City’s Commissioners in the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), has announced that his administration has managed to recover over $9m in previously unpaid fines. These fines came from idling violations committed by Bezos’ delivery vehicles and third-party contractors, and despite the Amazon’s $2 trillion valuation, the company has ignored them – until now. This serves as a timely reminder that authorities can hold dominant corporations accountable and make them pay up accordingly when political will exists. Amazon is worth $2 trillion. But it didn't deign to pay the…

Basque police brutally beat Palestine activists after they return from Israeli prison

  • Post author:

It might have looked like a scene from a prison in so-called ‘Israel’, but the appalling scenes actually unfolded at Bilbao airport. It wasn’t Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) beating peaceful Basque activists, but rather their own police force, the Ertzaintza, who smashed them with batons as they lay helpless on the ground. More shockingly still, the activists had only just returned from captivity in ‘Israeli’ dungeons. They were participants in the heroic Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which sought to bring aid to Palestinians starved by Zionists’ grotesque restriction of aid to Gaza. As GSF explain: When a family member, waiting anxiously…
