Yesterday, 15 July 2026, the London Irish Brigade held a protest outside Ireland’s embassy against the planned Ireland-Israel matches in the UEFA Nations League. The October 2026 fixtures will be held, after the Irish FA voted this month in favour of proceeding, in Hungary and, behind closed doors, in Serbia. Irish football fans, outraged at the idea of playing sport against a genocidal apartheid colony, have been protesting against the fixtures for months. A campaign group which wants to block gender affirming care for trans people is coming to London for a conference as it continues towards its aim of: structural violence against, and erasure of the trans community. Presenting themselves as a “respectable organisation”, the Clinical Advisory Network on Sex and Gender (CAN-SG) is a group of medical clinicians who campaign against gender affirming care and allegedly aim to improve holistic support for trans people instead. The Green Party continued its winning streak in London on 25 June with four by-election wins. Green party candidates won in Dalston, Hackney Central, North Acton, and Woodside. Although the party had already taken many of these seats in May, the new by-election wins show its momentum in parts of the capital remains strong. Activists gathered outside Kensington Olympia on 23 June, as delegates arrived for the first day of the far-right ‘Alliance for Responsible Citizenship’ (ARC) conference. Over 10 other campaign groups, including Greenpeace, Take Back Power and Queers for Palestine, joined protest organiser Fossil Free London. London Met Police expands facial recognition cams, sold as ‘public safety’

The Metropolitan Police has announced plans to expand its deployment of live facial recognition (LFR) technology in London. The Met Police force is planning on having the intrusive scanning technology set up in Soho and the West End by December 2026. Over the following year, six more areas across London are slated to follow.
